Missouri State Movement is a student-run and student-funded organization at Missouri State University. We are known for our performances at soccer games, around campus, at Greek life events, and at high school competitions. Marissa Friedmann (President) runs the team alongside Lindsey Bahr (Vice President), Isabella Rugerio (treasurer), and Laci Kollath (fundraising). In the past, we have been a noncompetitive team, but as of the last 2 seasons, we took the step and competed at NDA National College Dance Team Competition in Daytona Beach. In our first season, we walked away with 6th in D1 Jazz, and in our second season, we placed 11th in D1 Jazz and 11th in D1 Hip Hop. Last Season we placed 9th in D1 jazz (2024) with a flawless performance in hip hop. For the 2025 season we are taking another Jazz and hip hop with hopes of making it to finals for both! Because we are student-run, we rely fully on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to help us pay for things like costumes, choreography, travel, hotels, and more. In addition to this, we have no coach but have the pleasure of mentoring from our alum (we love you guys). This allows us to bond more as a team and a family and get closer to ourselves! We are extremely proud of how this program is run and how far we have come- we aren't done yet. We wouldn't be able to do it without the support of our family and friends, but also the girls who dedicate their time to this team and make practice feel like home.
