Innovative Assistants

Innovative Choreography is proud to invest in young, talented, dedicated dancers.  Beginning in the summer of 2018, current high school sophomores and juniors in the Kansas City area were selected to be Innovative Assistants at their team's camp.  These dancers have shown outstanding work ethic, leadership, and talent.  We can't wait to watch them grow into amazing instructors!

Ashley Camp

Ashley discovered her love of dance at 3 years old.  She currently dances at Starstruck Performing Arts Center and has been dancing competitively for 7 years. She is a sophomore at Blue Valley West and is part of the Crimson Cats Dance Team. She is looking forward to her second year dancing with Innovative!

Ella Clausius 

Ella is currently a member of the  Blue Valley West Crimson Cats Dance Team, and dances at Jody Phillips Dance Company. She is so excited for new opportunities and to continue her love for dance!

Clara Burdick 

Clara first fell in love with dance at the age of three. She has been dancing ever since and competitively dancing since the age of seven. She is trained in many different styles like jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and pom. She is a competitive dancer at Starstruck Performing Arts Center, and she is on the Lancer Dancer Dance Team at Shawnee Mission East. She is so excited to be a part of the Innovative family!

Ellery Corcoran 

Ellery started dancing at Starstruck Performing Arts Center when she was seven years old. This year will be her 11th year competing on their competition team. Ellery is also an alumni of the Crimson Cats dance team at Blue Valley West High School. She is so excited to be an Innovative Assistant and meet new people!

Caroline Doolittle

Caroline started dancing at the age of three years old and began competitive dance at age six.  She currently is a company member at Starstruck Performing Arts Center and is part of the Blue Valley High School dance team.  She can’t wait to begin her journey with Innovative working with the staff and schools as an assistant.

Maya Edwards 

Maya Edwards started dancing at Denise’s Dance Academy at the age of three and joined their competition team at 11.  She is currently a sophomore at Blue Valley West where she dances on the Crimson Cats Dance Team, is involved with Sources of Strength, and is a Freshmen Mentor.  She is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with Innovative. 

Alexa Frazier

Alexa’s love for dance started when she was four years old and she has been dancing competitively since she was five.  She is a member of the Olathe North Varsity Eaglettes Dance Team as well as the competition team at Johnson County Dance Center. She can’t wait to apply her passion for dance as an Innovative Assistant! 

Ellie Lim 

Ellie began dancing at age three, competing since the age of eight. She trains at Denise's Dance Academy in Kansas City in the styles of contemporary, jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap, and hip hop. She loves performing with the Blue Valley North varsity high school dance team, where they recently placed 2nd at the NDA Nationals in large varsity jazz.  She seeks out ways to be a part of the dance community and has been an ambassador for dance programs such as KCJDI and National Dance Week KC. She is proud to be a member of the Kinfigure Kollective, a talent collective and mentorship dance program started in the Kansas City area with members throughout the US who train together and perform in all styles of dance. She has taken many classes and camps from Innovative Choreography and is excited to be an assistant this year to help others grow in the art form and sport she loves.

Aubrey Lopeman

Aubrey fell in love with dance at the age of three.  She started dancing competitively at age six.  She is currently on the competitive team at Johnson County Dance Center (JCDC).  She will be a freshman at St. James Academy and will be on the sideline dance and competitive teams.  She is very excited to join the Innovative family!

Sophia MacInnis 

Sophia’s love and passion for dance began when she was two years old! Sophia dances competitively at Perception Dance Company. She is also on the St. James Academy sideline and competition teams. She is excited and honored to be an assistant for Innovative Choreography!

Marissa Pai 

Marissa has been dancing since age three and competitively dancing since age seven. She currently is a competitive dancer at Perception Dance Company and a captain on the Shawnee Mission South Varsity Pacesetters. She can’t wait to work with Innovative and see what every team has to offer!

Olivia Peterson 

Olivia has been dancing since she was 3 years old and starting dancing competitively at Denise’s Dance Academy when she was 5!  She is attending the University of Arkansas. She is so excited for her second year as an Innovative Assistant and share her love for dance!

Arissa Turner 

Arissa started dancing at the age of 2 and competitively at the age of 4.  She grew up watching her sister dance and immediately fell in love with it. Arissa currently dances for Starstruck Performing Arts Center on their competitive team, and this is her 8th year there. She is super excited to be part of the innovative Family and can’t wait for this year!!

Ella Warden 

Ella's passion for dance started when she was three at Denise's Dance Academy. Ever since then, she has loved every second of dance and started dancing competitively at age nine. Ella is a sophomore at Blue Valley Southwest and is a member of their dance team, the Glitter Girls. She is very honored and excited to share her passion and grow in this experience with Innovative!
