Who We Are
Anne grew up in the Kansas City area and began dancing and baton twirling competitively in 1997. Anne is a former Advanced Miss Majorette of Kansas (NBTA). She also trained in colorguard and competed at World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. Anne went to Kansas State University and was a member of the Classy Cats Dance Team. She served as an assistant section leader, and her choreography was featured at numerous football games, basketball games, the Pinstripe Bowl, NCAA tournament, and community events. She also helped lead the team to a Top 5 NDA Nationals placement.
Anne’s choreography experience began at Beller Dance Studio at age 16. Her routines received choreography awards at both high school and studio competitions. Throughout her time as a high school dance team coach, she grew dance team programs to compete at the national level. She has taught camps across the United States where she shares her energetic and encouraging instruction with dancers and coaches. Anne also choreographs for middle school, high school, and college teams across the United States. She served as a judge for the NAIA Collegiate Regionals, high school and middle school dance team competitions, and numerous auditions for studios, high school, and collegiate teams.
Outside of dance, Anne serves as a high school principal and has doctorate in PK-12 Educational Leadership.
Kansas City native Lauren Wilson has had a lifelong passion for dance, beginning her training at just three years old and continuing through her collegiate career. As a college dancer, she competed on a first-place NDA All-Star College Division team and went on to compete at the Dance Worlds. With a competitive dance background dating back to 1998, Lauren has extensive training in pom, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and twirling. Since 2005, she has shared her knowledge and passion for dance by teaching and coaching dancers throughout the Kansas City area.
Throughout her career, Lauren has served as a dance instructor, competitive team director, high school dance coach, and most recently, Head Dance Team Coach at Ottawa University. With over a decade of high school coaching experience and collegiate coaching experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge in developing dancers, building successful teams, and preparing athletes for competitive performance.
As an accomplished and award-winning choreographer, Lauren specializes in creating innovative, dynamic routines for competitive high school and collegiate dance teams, as well as individual dancers. Her choreography combines musicality, creativity, technical precision, and artistic expression to highlight each dancer's unique strengths while bringing out the best in every team.
Lauren's passion extends beyond choreography and competition. She is dedicated to helping dancers grow in confidence, technique, performance quality, and artistry. Whether working with a soloist or an entire team, Lauren strives to create meaningful experiences that inspire dancers to reach their full potential. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Lauren continues to share her love of dance through choreography, instruction, and mentorship, helping the next generation of dancers bring music to life through movement.

Dance, Twirling, Color Guard Choreography & Camps
Innovative Choreography has extensive experience choreographing for and providing dance camp instruction to middle school, high school, and college dance teams. Additionally, we love to work with dance studios for intensives, master classes, and competition choreography. We also have worked with color guards, marching bands (visual/movement), winter guards, and baton twirlers. We love the performing arts and are thankful to have well-rounded backgrounds.
